Teachers are busy people. From lesson plans to parents evenings they’re constantly on the go so can networking figure in their busy schedule? Of course it can!

It might not be obvious but networking is a vital part of teaching. From government changes to teaching strategies; the teaching world is constantly in flux and teachers need to know the ins and outs of all aspects of teaching if they want to stay at the top of their game. There are lots of different types of networking groups aimed exclusively at teachers and those involved in the teaching profession which can fit into even the busiest of schedules. (more…)

Hackney businesses get a helping hand with networking

The Hackney Enterprise Network are on hand in the coming months to offer local businesses a helping hand with networking.

The group are holding 2 new events in April and May to offer business-to-business advice and support on a range of topics including sales and marketing, application forms and business operation. The events have been designed with small and medium businesses in mind and hope to get many businesses back on their feet following tough times in the economic downturn. The network is run by HBV Business Enterprise on behalf of Hackney Council and is open to all businesses in the area for a monthly fee. (more…)

Do I need to join a networking group?

If you’re a novice at networking it might be a good idea to join a networking group instead of throwing yourself in at the deep end.

These groups are a great way of gently easing yourself in to the daunting world of the professional networkers and can really help you to learn the tricks of the trade. Joining one group is probably the best option to begin with but once you feel confident there’s no reason why you can’t join two or three more when you get into the networking groove.
