Networking success story for Rhoose businessman

A business man from Rhoose who was made redundant from Siemens in October of last year, has defied the difficult economic climate by relaunching himself into a successful career, attributing much of his success to networking.

After being made redundant, Alun joined the Welsh Assembly Government’s Redundancy Action Scheme (ReAct) to help broaden his skill-set and pursue a self-employed career. In November 2009, he was able to set himself up as a management systems consultant and establish himself in the industry.

‘Meet the Buyer’ networking event to be held in Lambeth

Lambeth businesses will have a chance to meet major local buyers from a variety of service areas at a ‘Meet the Buyer’ networking event.

Organised by Lambeth Council, lasting the day, and free to attend, it will give firms the chance to find out what is required to become a market leader and gain contracts in the public sector. There are up to 45 ‘Meet the Buyer’ events across the UK each year, which aim to give access to buyers or suppliers that you may not have heard of, without the hassle of research, cold calls and wasted meetings.

Ulster University hosts networking event this week

Ulster University is hosting an ‘Invest In Yourself’ fair, as part of the Business School, which aims to help individuals and businesses who are looking to upskill.

The event, which is taking place on the Belfast Campus on Thursday 6th May 2010, will comprise of a series of mini masterclasses presented by top marketing professionals, business professionals and university lecturers.
