Local businesses in the Altrincham & Sale area benefited from a recent ‘Breakfast Matters’ event, organised by Altrincham & Sale Chamber of Commerce and held in Crest Court Hotel in Altrincham.
Approximately 40 people attended the informal networking event which covered the topic of change and how the Coalition government and new budget could affect business.

An American Chamber of Commerce is offering a selection of networking events in a bid to attract more local networkers.
The Chautauqua County Chamber have launched a series of themed events entitled “Experience Chautauqua County” which they hope will encourage people to do just that! The events consist of networking opportunities, learning experiences and entertainment, while attendees will also be given the chance to experience the tastes and sites of the local environment. Those attending will also be given key advice on saving costs and all aspects of business etiquette. (more…)

If you’re a novice at networking it might be a good idea to join a networking group instead of throwing yourself in at the deep end.
These groups are a great way of gently easing yourself in to the daunting world of the professional networkers and can really help you to learn the tricks of the trade. Joining one group is probably the best option to begin with but once you feel confident there’s no reason why you can’t join two or three more when you get into the networking groove. Attending networking events used to mean clearing your schedule and taking valuable time away from the office. But all that has changed in recent years.
Networking organisers have woken up to the fact that taking “time off” is simply not feasible for a growing number of companies, particularly in the current financial climate. For this reason they’ve begun to arrange a number of events which are classed as “after hours”; this can either mean before or after the normal working day. Since their launch, they’ve proved to be hugely successful as companies can relax and focus on networking, rather than what they could be doing back at the office. (more…)

Picture the scene: men and women battling it out over computer games. It sounds like a typical night out at the pub, doesn’t it? In fact, it’s actually a networking event for small American businesses.
Men and women from all over Washington have been gathering to play computer games, while swapping business cards and exchanging important advice at the same time. The alternative networking events are being held by the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce as a change to their weekly doughnuts and coffee mornings. The events began 2 years ago but the Chamber felt it was time for a change. (more…)
