Hear ye… hear ye… business networking is all about gossiping!
Yes, you did read that right! A key part of business networking is referrals which are largely conducted through word of mouth. Attending networking events used to mean clearing your schedule and taking valuable time away from the office. But all that has changed in recent years.
Networking organisers have woken up to the fact that taking “time off” is simply not feasible for a growing number of companies, particularly in the current financial climate. A North East business networking event has been hailed as a huge success after attracting nearly 2000 local businesses.
Business Exchange North East was held earlier this week in Teeside and was organised by Business Link. It consisted of conference sessions, one-to-one meetings, exhibitions and practical workshops which provided invaluable networking opportunities for everyone involved. The event gave companies the chance to meet and network with other firms and entrepreneurs they might not meet in normal business situations. Business Link held the event to provide an insight into the local business community and raise awareness of local companies in the North East area.
