Summer Eventia Glasgow networking event proves to be a huge success

Summer Eventia, celebrating its fifth anniversary, held an event that brought toegther industry professionals, speakers and leaders, in Glasgow earlier this July. It attracted over 230 delegates, all of whom could then exchange ideas and take part in social activities as part of the event.

Networking success story for Rhoose businessman

A business man from Rhoose who was made redundant from Siemens in October of last year, has defied the difficult economic climate by relaunching himself into a successful career, attributing much of his success to networking.

After being made redundant, Alun joined the Welsh Assembly Government’s Redundancy Action Scheme (ReAct) to help broaden his skill-set and pursue a self-employed career. In November 2009, he was able to set himself up as a management systems consultant and establish himself in the industry.

Durham networking group sees rebranding after 30 successful years of operation

The Durham Business Club, Durham Training and Durham Office Services, which offer networking services, work-based learning for apprentices and virtual office facilities respectively, are to be rebranded as the Durham Business Group.

After 30 years it was decided the company should rebrand and create a new enterprise as part of a restructuring bid. Young entrepreneurs organise networking event with regional businesses

Year eight and nine students at a Norwich school invited regional business people to come and join them for a business breakfast.

These young entrepreneurs held the event within Sewell Park CollegeĀ and offered business leaders the opportunity to share their expertise and experiences over baked pastries and coffee. Beer Beauties benefit from Birmingham networking event

Businesswomen are being given the chance to sample real ales and involve themselves in the industry of beer production thanks to a Birmingham-based networking event.

Aiming to help women to become ‘beer beauties’, broadcaster and journalist Marverine Cole has created a new networking event to allow women in the region to socialise, talk business and try some real ales.

The event, known as ‘Beer Beauty‘ will take place this September 8th and has a limited capacity of only 50 spaces.

Women professionals reinforce necessity of networking with launch of new discussion group

Pro.manchester has launched a new discussion group for women, known as pro.women, which will provide women with a venue within which they can discuss business and network effectively.

A recent article has stated that as women become more visible in the world of business, they must realise that they shouldn’t attempt to compete with men simply by imitating them. The Office for National Statistics has shown that women make up a quarter of all business owners in the North West.

The article has also shown that the group believes that women should be playing a much more active role in networking to help lift the North West economy out of the ‘mancession’ – the detrimental effect that the classic male attributes of short-term thinking had caused.

Home workers to group together for refreshing day of work and networking

Home workers, typically used to working independently, are to set up office today to allow themselves a break from working alone and encourage networking opportunities.

These events, known as ‘Jelly’, are the brainchild of two networkers in New York who desired a new environment and a healthier business relationship. The office chosen for today’s event will be within a coffee shop in Flintshire and will feature free internet and desk space.
